how to clean the oven door
 

My oven is only a few years old, but so is my youngest child so :shrug3 I didn't do the greatest job keeping up with the inside of it. The door is all window and it has stained orangeish yellow. I have tried a few times to clean it, and anything that happened to splatter came off but the yellowish staining never did. It's so much that I can't see with any clarity inside the oven. It's all out of focus and orange. How do I get this off? How do you clean your oven? I've tried a super degreaser, windex, plain dish soap. I've used a washcloth, a sponge, paper towels, the scraper for the stovetop. I can't get it.

The only time I have had luck with this is when I used my normal kitchen cleaner ( I use Charlie's soap) but I was actually consostant and did it every single day. :Bag I feel like an idiot when I I say this but it did make a huge difference. But even knowing that I haven't nmade it happen in this rent house.

I'm guessing a magic eraser. It might be a little abrasive, but it sounds like you need to remove a surface layer of the plastic or glass.

If you don't want to risk getting an etched look, there are kits to remove the yellowing on the outer casing of car headlights.

Do you have a self cleaning oven? The yellow came right off mine when I ran that, once i realized I had that feature. :shifty

Is it glass? Because I've resorted to using a razor to scrape it off. Works like a charm :shifty

It is glass. Some places it came off with scrubbing, but not much. I have cleaned the oven before but never cleared the glass, and I try to wipe it if something is on it it just accumulated this layer. I may have to scrape it then.
It doesn't have self cleaning, just aqua lift which does great for the bottom but not much else

I can definitely try to giving it a regular wipe down every day.

My ds was able to get our very neglected oven door window clean with the help of a razor.

If the razor blade doesn't work I'd try Bar Keeper's Friend, the powder.

FYI Bar Keepers Friend is how I clean creosote off the glass door of our wood stove.

Usually a razor blade. Or I use the fume free oven cleaner on a paper towel.

It's one of the few cleaning products I buy. It's great for glass cooktops and mineral build up on faucets, too. Just test first for a faucet.

YouTube will show you how to unscrew it to get at the inside of the glass. I took mine all the way apart to get it clean.
