Dental Q - root planing and scaling

Has anyone else had a root planing and scaling that ended up making your gums much worse? I had this procedure about a year ago and have had nothing but problems since then.

I had it done and it solved my gum problems.

What problems have you had since having it done?

I have had root canals that hurt more after :hug2 My go to for everything dental now is coconut oil. Brushing gently at gumline with tooth brush slanted up or down into gumline and brushing in little circles with the oil.also gently swishing with some coconut oil for a good while and then spitting

ouch- I'm sorry. I wonder if they didn't sanitize things properly or didn't do it properly. Is it a dentist you think is good and that you trust?

I think they were really good and did a great job. I think it threw off the complicated ecosystem that was my mouth or something :lol. Like you know the joke about not washing the car because the dirt is holding it together? I almost wonder if the stuff around my teeth was protecting the spaces between, where stuff can get up into the gums. I don't know. All I know is I wish I hadn't had it done. And I can't find any information online about people still suffering a year+ after having had it.

Yeah, that's awful. Is there such a thing as a probiotic mouth wash/rinse? I wonder if swishing with organic raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar would help.

I would call the dentist and ask about it. That sounds terribly miserable :(

Not sure it would be wise to swish acid (vinegar) around teeth.

That's a good point. Maybe that Biotene mouth rinse would be good.
