I cannot do spinach in my smoothies any longer. What are some relatively mild greens you recommend? I actually don’t mind doing a sour smoothie with dandelion greens and lemon juice, but I actually can’t do lemon juice anymore either.

Ideas?

If you have an Asian market try A Choy. Gai Lan could be good too if you just use the leaves. Save the stalks for stir fry.

I do salad greens. I cannot do spinach either. I do arugula in
My hot foods.

I've done chard in my smoothies before. You can get it frozen - that is what I usually use. Or I have used fresh mixed greens before as well.

baby arugula
baby kale

(sometimes those two are packaged together as "power greens." Wal-mart has them in a clam shell package)

Romaine
Red leaf lettuce

anything with purple or deep red has extra nutrition, too.

I minimize raw spinach because the oxalic acid inhibits absorption of nutrients.

I buy frozen kale, and my daughters crumble it into their smoothies.
It's not clumped like frozen spinach typically is.

I get the Power Greens that are spinach, kale and chard - so I would probably try just kale and chard first.

I LOVE arugula with savory dishes but hadn't thought to try it in smoothies. :think

If you are actually wanting a lemon taste, could you use some lemon grass?

Look up the greens that actually work against your thyroid. (this way you don't over do those. I think I remember you stating you have a sluggish thyroid too.)

How about using the beet greens and beet root in a smoothie?

Baby kale?

Does this come in a bag? I don't think I've ever seen it.

I buy baby kale in a clamshell package. Washed and ready.
