Weird case of chicken pox -- looking for other experiences

My Little Guy first showed about 30 spots last Thursday night on his back right before bedtime. He had a few more new ones the next day. Then nothing until Sunday (Day 4), when he got about 3 more new ones. Then nothing until today when he got 7 more (Day 7)! He's had a really mild case so far, no fever, no itching. Others who have looked at him confirm that the spots look like chicken pox.

But the timing of the spots seems really strange to me. Anyone else experience a case like this?

When ds2 got chicken pox the location of spots seemed to move over time from trunk to extremities. So started out with just a couple on his belly then spread around his torso and then arms and legs and head. His didnt itch much either.

That sounds normal for CP - usually they do come in batches over 4 or 5 days

Yes it can be that way - just when you think no new ones will appear a couple more show up.It may be a little easier on him than getting lots all at once,actually

How old is he? All of my kids got chicken pox a few years ago; my youngest was eight months old and apparently if you get it under a year old, you aren't immune.

I'm obviously not Lilac, but her little guy is almost 3. He'll be immune when he's done. :phew
