I made some little car cakes for DC's birthday party tomorrow. What I neglected to do was figure out how to decorate them! I can't regular icing, they are smallish cakes with lots of corners and crevices. The only other icing I know how to do is a glaze type of chocolate icing, so I could pour that on then it would harden. I'm not sure how well that would work, but that's my only option I know of. I thought people used fondant, but I don't know how to do that. The cakes look like this:

I know they're not very good, I've never made shaped cakes before. And they're gluten free. This is an experiment.

dot all over with a star tip looks good. You can vary the colors, too. Cute cakes!

Well I tried it, they turned out pretty good I think. Well I'm not in love, but everyone says they look cute. DC will like them, I think, and that's what counts
