Is canning is scary as I think it is? I'm scared to invest in canning stuff and suck at it :(

I'd love to make some jams and chutneys and tomato sauces :D

Canning is super easy, especially if you mostly do jams/jellies/preserves and use a hot water bath rather than a pressure cooker. I do some things in the pressure canner though and it isn't as hard as it seems. I love to can. I have my grandmother's Ball Blue Book and it is the first thing I recommend to people who want to get started in canning.

I'm a beginner canner as of the end of last summer. I canned four quarts of pickles last night.
