Welcome all to the home blessing challenge "sprint." This challenge will only be two weeks long, but if that is to long for you feel free to join for just a few days or as long as you like. :)

You can do as many challenges as you like there is no limit. As for points keep track if you like or don't. It is up to you. :) I have noticed from other hbc that some people like you to spoil your list, but I have also seen that some people have problems when doing it that way so again do what works for you.

I think it would be great if we can encourage each other and try and help each other reach our goals. It would be great to set a daily goal.

Picnic: Plan a picnic with your family. 100pts
Bathroom attack: Declutter cupboards/closets, get rid of old holey towels, wash or replace shower curtains, wash or replace any bath mats, go through bottles get rid of things you don't use, check all the consumables and make a list of things that you are running low on, go through sheets and blankets, clean bath toys, wash walls and baseboards, scrub everything. 300pts This might be a two day job - taking my points when it is finished to keep me motivated - the hard part is done (all the scrubbing), just need to organize the cabinet and wipe out the sink. Easy.

Monday: 425
Tuesday Goal: 950 (cleaning a bathroom that hasn't been cleaned in a while... :bag)

:rockon I didn't get a much done as I would have liked, but it is hard to do "stuff" while dh is here. He did help do a bunch of things and the house looks nice, but I hate to get into the deep cleaning with him around. I *ahem* "might" throw out something he would want to keep. :shifty

I have an ambitious, been-putting-it-off goal for today: Pull absolutely everything from the fridge and wipe it, followed by the same for the upstairs freezer. Then, if Boo is still napping, organize and re-catalogue the downstairs freezer. I haven't even opened that one in a few weeks and I have no idea what's left in there :blush

Got ready to deep clean the bathroom. Put V down for a nap, turned on a movie for the boys. Scrubbed the tub (it looks nice). Got distracted (I wasn't on FB... :shifty :bag), and now I don't want to go back in there. :( I hate cleaning. Seriously hate it. But it needs to be done.

I really need to learn to just focus better. I get into this rut where I give myself breaks and rewards too often and then nothing ever gets finished. :doh

OK. Going back in. I can do this!! :cheer

This is so true. Life has been so nuts the last 6 months, I've barely cleaned, or cooked, or anything. Thankfully, we had lots of friends and family helping keep up the basics. We are finally returning to normal life and I can't wait to get into a good routine and back to the "maintenance" phase!!!

Total for Monday, 610.
It's amazing how fast actually doing my quiet time and spending some time reading to my kids boosts my total. :shifty

I think actually that needs to be my goal--to get the whole section of mama time/bonding time/quiet time, every day, without fail. And my "new habits" section.

I'm so the same way. Part of it is "too much to do, where to start?", part "Well the 10min I have won't make much of an impact in this chaos anyway", part I need it to be perfect and it never will be. I appreciate this challenge - even if my house isn't perfect, giving myself points is like, YAY! At least you put in real effort and made a real impact!

Praying about joining you with the specific goal of decluttering my whole house in 2 weeks and not stressing the daily stuff. I so desperately need this. I'm actually pretty good at the daily stuff although I may put it down just to make myself feel better BUT the daily stuff often distracts me from the "deep clean"

Today: This is just what I've done since I found this thread :shifty I am not taking points for all the work I did before this thread.

Calendar Review: Coordinate your Commitments 25pts
Assign SHB Chores & Challenges to Specific Days 25pts
Tuesday: 50 points

I'm also wondering about taking points for things my kids do. As a mama of kids 7+, I am "manager" of a lot of chores. :shifty On a regular day, my kids do the following after dinner
*load dish washer
*clean table
*wipe counters, stove
*empty garbages and recycling

They also fold laundry, declutter, sweep, mop, clean bathrooms, water plants and a lot of other stuff. :think

I am considering cutting my points in half for their work although management is often harder than getting it done myself :shifty Maybe I should get double points :giggle (just kidding) It's often easier to do it but I want them doing it to understand the amount of work it takes to run a household and teach them to be independent.

Totally don't care about points. Just want to see what I did in writing :)

I was at first annoyed cuz I didn't get everything done I wanted but now seeing my list, I'm pretty happy. And my house looks fairly decent. Plus, even though I didn't get everything done I got enough done that I got a decent start on my decluttering. I decluttered alot this a.m. before kids got up :phew In fact, I let them sleep in so that I could declutter :D

Good Morning Ladies! How have your last few days been? We got home yesterday afternoon and I didn't do any cleaning up I did manage to dig up 5 dead cedars. I'm not sure if I should be :rockon or :-/. We planted 10 (5-6 foot) cedars last year and they all dead. :( I know why they did now that I have dug up 5 of them. None of them took root.at.all. :-/ :hunh :scratch

Today is cloudy, windy, possibly rainy, but I would still like to get the rest of the cedars out and plant the trees I got from fil. However I'm not sure how long the boys will want to stay outside with me while I work. Other then that my goal for today is get the kitchen back in order and organize some cupboards.

Bummer on your cedars :( Were you in the drought zone? I barely kept my new blueberry bushes alive last summer, but my water bill totally reflected the efforts...

I essentially took 2 days off of housework. Time to snap back to it today!

We are actually doing well here - been super busy (haven't had time to think about lists but keeping up on daily stuff better than normal since delegating more to my kids :rockon).

We have homeschool co-op today so I have no plans during the day beyond what I've done (quiet time, kids picked up their rooms, and summer calendar coordination). I will come home and make dinner and maybe finish decluttering my room. We are getting new to us bedroom furniture tomorrow (inherited) so it's either be lazy and procrastinate and do it all this weekend or get a head start.

I also want to implement quick pick up before bed today (5 min each child in their bedroom and designated area of the week, 5 minutes me in kitchen)

This weekend will be a huge weekend for us in regards to our household (new bedroom furniture and car from my gramma - car is VERY VERY dirty and needs detailing and waxing, garden needs planting, and something else I am forgetting :think)

DH should be home all 3 days so hopefully we can get it done and settled before Tuesday :grin I'm excited to have real bedroom furniture for the first time in our marriage :tu and grateful we will be back to 2 cars :jump even if I have to spend serious time cleaning it up :giggle

It was dry in the fall, but I wouldn't say drought. We also had a super long winter with a ton of snow and I know that didn't help at all either. I still can't believe that there was no new root action. I am wondering if they weren't in their pots too long already when we bought them because they were really hard, but I thought with a lot of watering that that would fix it. Oh well. I am excited to plant the ones fil gave us. We got Manitoba maple, blue spruce, and two chokecherry trees.

I think there should be an extra points category for this: Bake a birthday cake from scratch due to chemical allergies. Toddler eats half a layer of said cake while it is cooling. Adjust naps and DH's lunch break to get the car (we share) so I can go purchase more ingredients. Rebake cake and continue with day, but several hours later. It turned out really yummy :D but wow! What a day! Hoping we don't have any more "exploring" moments between now and the party tomorrow night.

WOW! You had a busy day!

I managed to get the rest of the cedars out and plant 12 trees yesterday. I hope to plant the rest of the trees today.

Ahh, Monday. Lately my weekends have been crazy busy with kids coming and going from the house. I'm going to use the list as a guide to stay focused on housework for a bit.

Normajean, I think it's funny how you casually wrote: I planted 12 trees today. I think you deserve a bit of recognition for that hard work: :clap :cheer :barbell :jawdrop
