In the (very very old) house I'm renting, the kitchen and laundry room drain out into a ditch behind our house. It's like a creek bed that water only flows in when it's rainy. I need to know what I can use that is completely bio-friendly.
I don't dump bleach in those drains, I do use dawn, oxyclean and homemade soap that has fels naptha, borax and washing soda. I could change the fels naptha to dr bronners easily, is that safe?
We've seen frogs, birds, crawfish, our cats and eventually our ducks and chickens will be in that ditch. I want it to be as safe as I can make it.
My other option is to build a simple purifier that the water will go through before going to the ditch.
Also, should I be worried about germs like salmonella and e coli?
