please enlighten me! i never use bleach, so i'm wondering...if i take my old light blue couch slipcover and bleach it, is it possible to get it completely white? :think

It will seriously degrade the fabric.

I saw a tutorial on Pinterest the other day about bleaching blue jeans to totally white...so she could redye them pastel. Let me see if I can go find it...it might give you some hints.

probably no way i can do it easily, but that tutorial looked cool for smaller items. oh well. just trying to be resourceful and safe money where possible :-)
RIT makes a color remover that is much gentler on fabric than bleach. I don't know if it would take it all the way to white but you could at least lighten it enough to overdye or get it to a better color.

I had asked this question last year wanting to "recycle" come curtains. I tried the rit
and the bleach
and nothing.
The curtains looked AWFUL and ended up going in a landfill. :mad
I don't think you'll be able to bleach to white, but I've been able to RIT and bleach a black shirt to a soft creamsicle orange. It really depends on what color you have, what the under tones of it are and what you want the color to end up being.
