I do wash it with soap, but that's after trying to scrape everything out. Then I dry it on heat on the stove then oil it down. Every time I cook with it, food of all kinds stick to the bottom and just create a mess to clean off.

So how can I fix up this pan? :)

If it were properly seasoned, you wouldn't need soap to get everything off :no. It's a self perpetuating cycle. I cook in mine every day and never have issues with stuff sticking. Here is a comprehensive site about how to treat here clean her up and treat her properly. :giggle

Yeah, you need to build up a lot of grease in the pan and never use soap. :no Hot water is fine for cleaning, but you don't want to get rid of the seasoning build-up.

If you want to get rid of stuff stuck to the bottom, just heat the pan until that bottom layer of stuff gets crispy. Then scrape it out, rinse the pan with hot water and wipe with a paper towel. Hth!

I keep a small ice scraper in the kitchen for my cast iron.
