DOes anyone know how to remove ashed and dried chewing gum from clothing?

I *just* got enough out-of-the-house pants for this kid. I'd really like to save these.

I've had good success with Stain Devils products. Some grocery stores carry them. The ink and crayon one has dissolved gum for me really well, but I think I've only tried it on fresh gum.
