My mom wants to buy me some sheets :heart.
My eyes are so tired and my head practically spinning from reading reviews online :crazyand trying to find just the right ones. The reviews are so mixed! What sheets do you love? My favorite sheets have been a sateen stripe set I've had, but they're worn out and I don't think that company makes them anymore.

At that price, "nice" might be hard to find. I would check TJ Maxx or Target. If you can, get 100% Egyptian cotton, and lower thread count in that price range (200-300) is actually better, b/c it is more likely to be single-ply, which won't pill as easily.

We got a great 600+ count one from Shopko. Don't do the Meijer brand though.

I was actually wondering about sheets from Walmart because they have such a good return policy.

We also have a Tuesday morning.

Good idea to wait until after x-mas. I wouldn't have thought of that.

Thanks for the heads up on the 1-ply being preferable. After reading reviews of sheets that were on overstock.com in the $50-60 range and seeing that so many people complained of bad pilling right off teh bat, I got a little nervous about buying online. Sheets are pretty expensive to ship back for a refund.

I've never heard of shopko, I'll take a peek. I'll look at landsend too.

I don't have access to a sam's or costco.

Does Target have a good return policy?

Thanks for the tips!

January is when the stores have "white sales" which is where sheets, towels, etc. are on sale. You can get good prices on good quality stuff. I would wait to buy until then.

She wants to pay with Paypal, so I've been mainly looking on overstock.com and ebay. Ebay makes me nervous because there aren't a lot of reviews. I'm considering these (http://www.overstock.com/Bedding-Bath/Egyptian-Cotton-400-Thread-Count-Stripe-Sheet-Set/6070502/product.html) in plum and light blue because they have mostly really good reviews. There always seem to be some bad reviews mixed in though...
Anywhere else paypal friendly I should check?

I'm not sure about PayPal friendly, but I *love* our 100% cotton sheets from IKEA. They are inexpensive for 100% cotton sheets, have about 300 thread count for the version we buy, are very soft, and wash and wear well.

Yay! I showed my mom how to move the money back into her bank account, so I'm free to shop anywhere again! :D
Keep the suggestions coming. :)
