glueing felt projects?

I bought a bunch of felt craft projects on clearance for the boys and their cousins. They were all christmasy winter themed :shrug3 (this was back in August)

What can I use for gluing them together that's safe? I really didn't think it through. Its not like they are 'nice' enough I want to do them, its really a here make this Picasso. :giggle

Also, the foam things (you know the foam thin sheets) I got a set of snowmen and was planning on gluing parts to them...will regular school glue work?

I just did the first felt project with the boys with school glue and am worried about it even holding long enough for them to look at. :doh

I used Aleenes tacky glue for practically everything. Regular school glue should work on the felt but it will take awhile to dry.
