Here is this week's HBC! Points should be posted in a new post in this thread by Monday, December 3rd by 12N PST.

The winners of this week's challenge will each get a small prize from me. The two categories are: small family (either family of 3, or family of 4 if all children are under 5, or single/couple) and "the rest" ;). Unless your signature tells me you're in a small family, I'll assume you're not unless you tell me otherwise!

Spend no more than 15 minutes in each room doing a general tidy up. Run the vacuum through the middle of each room, straighten things up, etc., per room 50 pts

Challenge 1 - Kitchen Scrubbed within an inch of it's life! this week, take double points for all kitchen chores, also no "declutter" time limit a day on kitchen decluttering only. If you complete all kitchen chores and your counters, table and floor are fully decluttered take a bonus 100 points

Challenge 2 - Laundry Mountain I've reduced mine in the past couple of weeks but it's still there..... take double points for laundry this week and try to get to where you don't have a full load to run! (if you only wash duvets etc periodically this could be a good week to wash them!)

Challenge 3 - Seasonal Fun! spend some time this week doing something seasonal with your children/family. Suggestions include: taking a wintry walk (if you have wintry weather); put up some bird feeders; make and put up some seasonal decorations - e.g. for Christmas or Hannukah, or just general "winter" decorations, but you can come up with your own! 300 points

:cup By small family do you mean only 3 people in the family or 3 kids?

3 people. I've noticed a big divide between the highest points totals of those with bigger families, and those with just one or two kids. My guess is it probably relates to stuff like size of house, amount of washing needing doing etc.

Okay, I *have to* participate this week. Have to. Generally over the past three weeks either Monday or Tuesday has been good, and the rest's been a write-off. Must do this week. Preferably at least *most* of the week.

Question about laundry points in general--for "load completed", if I've had a pile of clean laundry sitting on the hall floor for days and I fold it and put it away, is that a load completed? Or is load completed only for a load you do all in one day, washed to put away?

If that's ok Arelyn :hug. I was kinda basing it on "age at which they can help a little more", though I know it's individual how much children can/will do.

Kiara - I do "completed loads" by completed in the same day, so don't often get much for that because usually I start loads in the evening, so either they're still hanging drying until next evening, or even if dried in dryer and folded, kids clothes don't get put away because I don't want to wake them. We could always have a discussion about whether people would like it to mean "completed that day" or "completed that week"?

I use 'complete' if all done within 24 hrs :)
I, too, start loads in evenings and hang laundry during the night or following morning.(not using dryer). They get dry fast, so they tend to be folded away into wardrobe by evening to free up drying rack for next washing load.
