I would like to get a new machine. I can't right now but I can save up for one, right? :shifty I have an older machine that gives me lots of trouble. It's pretty basic, a zig zag dressmaker. But it's built into a cabinet which is a PAIN. It's operated by a knee pedal which I hate. I had to re-attache the pedal to the cabinet and now i can't fold the sewing machine down int the cabinet. I would reallylike a stand alone machine that doesn't have to be installed into a cabinet. I'd like something basic that works well that I won't have a ton of issues with. I do want it to have zig zag and straight stitch, reverse, bobbin winding, those kinds of basics. But be reliable.
Any suggestions on something that is reasonably priced, like not more than 200$? Is that possible? I don't even know where to start with brands/types etc.
