We very recently moved into a house that was built in the late 50s - most of the house has been redone in the last 10-15 years, but the cupboards in the kitchen are old. We got a home lead swab kit and tested it today, and the inside of the cupboards and drawers tested positive for lead paint. :doh

If there's no dust, would you feel comfortable laying something down on the bottom of the cupboards and using them for now, or do we need to paint over all of them before we can put dishes away and have them usable? :-/

I want to use my kitchen :hissyfit but I don't want to be making us sick...

Did you use an EPA recommended test kit? False negatives and false positives are possible with those kits, and the EPA only has a few they suggest for use by homeowners.
