I kept my house tidy for a WEEK. Over a week actually. The kitchen stayed clean, clothes got put away, toys got put away, groceries got put away where they belong even.

My goal is to keep this up till the new year and then I'll start adding in actual cleaning (dusting, mopping, etc) during the week. Right now those things are on the weekends, if I feel like it. I know that's grody for some people but before this they were not getting done much anyhow. So I'm trying to allow this tidiness to really get built into our life before I get all gung-ho and then burnt out.

So since you ladies are so encouraging, I was hoping some for back patting and not "holy schnikes, you don't mop after your baby goes to sleep each night" type responses :blush:O

What's your secret?
Mainly doing stuff instead of not :shrug3 I don't know why but my immediate response to something like a dropped noodle is "that fell, I should pick it up. I can pick it up later" and to dishes in the sink "that's getting full. I am about to add more dishes so why bother doing anything now?" I'm finding that it takes less time to do small batches of work through the day though. This is totally "duuuuh" to many, I am sure, but it's kind of a revelation to me.

I remember that moment. Once you get the routine and get used to doing it gets a little easier.

:cheer Cheering you into week 2.
