I'm looking to get waterbottles for my boys (and me!) and I can't decide which one to get. :think :scratch

We all currently have Klean Kanteens. I used to have two, but lost one. I like to have two for longer trips or in case I need to wash one. I'm not sure if I want to get another or pick something else.
I have also lost one of the boys' KK's and so one has been using a Tupperware cup instead. :doh

I'm thinking I want two bottles each, just because they seem to get misplaced or dirty or whatever. I'm considering KK's again. I like the idea of glass, but haven't seen one with a sport top or straw. Anybody know of one? I'm also considering plastic- either Nalgene or CamelBak. And I'm intrigued by the Vapur foldable ones, but I'm not sure how easy they are to clean or what they are made of.

If a way, it might be nice to stick to the KK's. We have insulated sleeves to help them stay cold longer, we are used to them. But, they are made in China. I could get US made ones, but they are plastic. I'm not sure how I feel about plastic bottles in a hot car, even if they are BPA free. :think

Thoughts? Opinions?
(I'm sure I'm totally over-analyzing this. :shifty)

My kids have the Contigo bottles I picked up at Costco. We like them, and I love their coffee mugs too.

We have Kleen Kanteens, but they often leak. The Contigo bottles and coffee mugs do not.

I love kk! Made in china :( boo! I wonder if it's done ethically??

I love the ease. One basket with all the lids that fit all my bottles. We use the sport top and then a reg plug when I'm tossing it in a bag and do not want it to leak. We have 4 different sizes...but all the tops intermingle. I also have my older sport tops a cheap upgrade buying replacements. The bottles themself will probably last forever :)

I gotta look into the insulated sleeves :) my girls would like that!!

DS and I have the CamelBak ones and really like them. DS also has a Nalgene with a sippy lid that he keeps in the fridge at his school. He likes both of them.

The only thing about the CamelBak ones is they're not entirely easy to clean inside the mouthpiece.

Oh yeah! I had wondered about that with the CamelBak ones. And also how easy the straw things are to clean.

The straws are easy, we just have a straw brush. It's what's above the straw that get's complicated.

Yes, they are. It says on their website. BTW, they originated in my town. :)

We love our Thermos Funtainers. They keep things cold for a long time and are easy to clean.

I grew mold in my vapor water bottle. :shifty And I broke my glass one. :( And I wrecked my plastic one that looked like a giant water bottle. :(

Contigo is our current favorite too. My Klean Kanteen leaked all over everything. I ruined like 10 books with it before I was like, "DOOONE!" Then we bought a Contigo for me. :)

K has that Nalgene bottle pictured in TurtleHerder's post. :yes She likes it.

Yeah, my KK definitely leaks. I have ruined a ton of stuff in the car because it won't stay up in my cup holders. :-/ Maybe I *should* just replace it. :giggle

I am definitely worried about cleaning the Vapur. I will check into the Contigo. :yes I've seen them at Costco, but never really looked.

We like the thermos ones with the straws. Plus you can personalize them on cafe press with your kids name.

We looooove our new Thermos one w/ a straw for dd. It literally keeps ice in it, unmelted, for 2 days in a hot Florida car.

We're loving M's contigo. :yes Never had a leak.

I get my kids these Zak (http://www.amazon.com/Zak-Hydro-Canteen-Bottle-Thomas/dp/B008EXV09A/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1349881591&sr=8-7&keywords=thomas+zak) brand bottles. (The Amazon price is not a good reflection ;) you can get them for $4 at FM, safeway) Because when my kids break them they are cheap to replace. N broke 3 KK's and 2 Thermos sippies before we gave up. :doh

Hmm, I could get the Cars and Dora ones and they will be able to keep them all straight when we're together. :giggle

On the other hand, staying cold all day sounds great. The Thermos ones are sounding lovely. :think

Why can't this be easier for me to choose?? Oh, because I'm super indecisive! :doh :shifty

The Thermos ones come in character prints. Thomas has a Batman and a Starwars, and DD has a Barbie one (looks like girly print, can't really tell it's Barbie) and a pink camo one. We love them! Don't leak and water stays COLD!

We have some Kids Basix (little (http://kid-basix.com/thesafesippy.php), Bigger (http://kid-basix.com/thesafesporter.php))

I really really like them, easy to clean and so on so forth. They do have 2 options one with straw one not. I don't like the straw part so we don't do it.

There is a bigger version, but so far the kids don't like that one as much. I have 2 of the big ones and 3 of the littler ones. The ones I have are plastic (solid) as the mouth piece and don't break...unlike everything else cause my LoveBug chews.

I got mine from ecomom.

We really like the Nalgene bottles for the kids too. I like that you can buy replacement valves. They are very simple and easy to clean. We had Camelbaks for a while, but found that they leaked, were not easy to clean and we kept losing the straws. I really like Camelbaks to use for myself. I think if you only use them for water they hold up pretty well.

I love our thermos foo-gos! I don't know if there's any difference between these and the regular funtainers though.

I ended up ordering some more KK's for all of us.
I read several articles saying that even BPA free plastics still have endocrine disrupters in them. :-/ I know I can't get totally away from plastic if I want some sort of sport top, but I decided to stick with the stainless steel for the bottle itself.

I was just wondering if Sigg bottles are an option? (Seeing you already ordered some new ones, but for the future maybe?) Or was there a problem with them?

The local co-op has a water bottle in stainless that's sort of a satiny green metal . . . know green isn't your favorite color though.

I wonder if either of those don't leak as badly. Hm . . .

I don't like sigg because they had a lining that was filled with BPA and they were all like "no we are BPA free" then as pressure increased they were like "just kidding. We are totally disrupting your hormones". I rink they are BPA free now. But I don't trust them anymore.

We like the Thermos Funtainers. They keep liquids cold for 12 hours without ice.
