I just got a cool book from the library called re-bound: creating handmade books from recycled and repurposed materials (http://www.amazon.com/Re-Bound-Creating-Handmade-Repurposed-Materials/dp/1592535240)
It shows how to make little blank notebooks and scrapbooks and other types of "books" using old game boards and chip bags and record album covers and tickets, ties, denim, hardware, paint by numbers (I recently threw a few away that I had painted when I was a kid - bummer), used starbucks cards, coasters, old photographs on heavy paper called cabinet cards (I have some of those), and I realized that I have lots of old stuff like that, that I could make stuff with if I was creative enough.
I have boxes of old family photos - some are labeled and we know who they were, but others - no one knows any more - but they are neat looking, so I kept them - but I did not know what to do with them, so they are just in boxes. It would be really cool and creative to make stuff out of them. I also have old postcards and confederate money (fake) and greeting cards and business cards and some really old and falling apart magazines and cookbooks with neat graphics.

So, my creative mama friends - what can I make out of them? :shrug3

okay just went to the bookshelf and found it:

I bought it in a scholastic sale from their fill a box section so I didn't pay much for it but it was interesting and with some inspiration if that's your thing. I'm not typically into paper crafts though so I read it purely for enjoyment. The amazon preview of the book has enough for inspiration though.
