hand-knit baby pants - help me shop for patterns and yarn?

After I briefly mentioned on my blog that I adore hand-knit baby pants, a verrrrrrry sweet, kind, generous reader emailed and offered to work up some baby pants for the twinsies! :heart:heart:heart

She asked me to tell her what pattern I might like for her to use as well as wool. As much as I adore droooooooling over hand-knit clothes, as a non-knitter, I am clueless on the logistics!

What pattern would you choose for new baby pants and what kind of wool? I need specifics (links, if you got 'em!).

Will they be going over cloth or sposies?

Probably disposables. I *want* to do cloth from the start, but I'm trying to be realistic about life with twins. :blush :)
