:giggle I take it to mean things like sourdough breads and fermented porridges, but maybe some do mean beer. I'll :popcorn (um, it's fermented :shifty) for more replies.

Fermented grains usually mean sourdough (in my book). Soaked/sprouted grains are something different.

I usually say "sourdough" or "soaked grains" but I have heard "fermented grains" used to refer to sourdough bread and soaked porridges.
