Her eyes keep filling with goop

Dd has a cold and it's making her eyes fill with goop. She took a nap today and it's so bad she refuses to open her eyes because the goop in them is making it so hard to see.

I don't have breastmilk left to put in her eyes. I don't think it's pink eye be cause her eyeballs aren't red. The area around her eyes looks red and swollen.

She's so miserable and it's hard to breathe because her eyes are watering so much it's making her nose run. What can I do to help her?

Massage the tear duct with a warm, wet washcloth.

A friend has offered breastmilk. She should be bringing some by tonight or tomorrow. I hope it helps.

Truly, there is nothing to do to help it go away faster. Truth be told, you are probably better off to leave the eyes alone, and just dab excess goop with a tissue and be sure to wash hands after so you don't spread any viruses that might be in it. It will go away on its own given enough time.

We just had a round of URIs with nice eye goop a couple weeks ago too! :hug2
