I need a crochet stitch that doesn't stretch.

I'm making my friend a bag for her Kindle Fire. I've done closed shells for the body, they are pretty stretchy. I want the top and handle to have more structure than the body. The yarn I'm using is pretty floppy so I'm thinking something really dense.

The bag will kinda sorta be shaped like this. (I had a pattern of something closer the other day but I didn't save it :doh)

I used all single crochet for my sisters kindle bag. (and cotton yarn) and it's not very stretchy.

How about lining the bag or even just the handles. A pretty quilter's cotton would look nice and then prevent the bag from stretching.
