red itchy ear

DD keeps scratching at her ear. It's red on the outside, all over. I don't see any bug bites or anything like that. What could cause this? The other ear looks normal, not red. The only thing I can think of is sunburn but I am not sure that i's a sunburn. She could have gotten sun on her ear riding in the car, that's the only thing I can think of. Any ideas?

Sunburn is possible. So is yeast.

how would one get yeast in their ear? What would I do for it?

no idea how it gets there... I deal with it.

I treat it with grapefruit seed extract or garlic stuff. TeaTree oil too..

I put coconut oil on i overnight and it looked a little better in the morning but she still was sxratching and it was still red. Later in the day I checked again....this time i saw 2 crasty spots behid her ear, and one in the ear.. . Figured it out... CHIGGERS! how weird. But she has them on other parts of her body and several more on her head. The spot didn't apear right away, thats why I didn't think they were bites. I scrubbed them a bit to het the chigger off and put some calamine on it and the are much better today.
