So I made a big batch of elderberry syrup, which supposedly could be stored in a cool dark place - apparently my kitchen cupboards weren't cool or dark enough because it fermented after several days. :doh. It's quite fizzy and has a slight smell/taste of alcohol. No mold or anything. Is it still good to use? Same benefits and everything? Safe to give to dd1? And should I just store it in the fridge in the future? (This batch is obviously now in the fridge!)

As long as it tasted ok, I would use it. I think fermentation adds beneficial properties. :)
