Has anyone ever made a sling to wear in water? I'll have a baby and 2 3 year olds this summer, so I need something to keep my hands free. I've made several slings, bit what kind of fabric for a water sling? Where to get it?

I never made own, but I owned a pouch that was good for the water.

It was by these people. They seem to have a sling for water but not the pouch anymore. http://www.wallababy.com/products/Olive-Solarweave-Baby-Sling.html

Anyway, it says the material is "solarweave"

I think the ones they sell are something called solarvail... something like that. But I have a ring sling that is made out of a thin cotton gauze and it works well:shrug3

I just used my sling from that seven brand or whatever it is that gives them away a lot. It worked.
You could also make a wrap out of swimsuit material from a fabric store. It doesn't fray so you just cut and wrap :)

I googled "water mesh ring sling" and came up with quite a few pages, including several WAHM sites. :)

Yes! It's light, comfy, dries quickly.

It is not solar veil. But, I didn't care for SV...it's kinda weird fabric :shrug3

yeah, they don't need to be a special fabric, to be honest. Is it not too stretchy? I might have to make one for this summer...

It is a bit stretchy :yes I might choose a wrap for an over-25/30lb babe. I use it (ring sling) fine with my 22lb baby, but do sometimes have to adjust it tighter while in the water.
