I want to make this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/NanaCathy/moebius-cowl

But I want to use this yarn: http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/louisa-harding-kimono-angora (in this colorway: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/birdtongue/accidental-girly-mitts)

:help :O

Well, your yarn's just about half the weight of the rec'd yarn - I think you could just double strand it :shrug3.

Or, could I then just double the cast on?

:think I wonder how that would change the drape of the cowl.

I don't know if I'm seeing something different. But it looks like the pattern calls for a DK weight yarn. The project you linked to used a DK weight yarn and the yarn you linked to says it is a DK weight yarn. So, it seems like everything is DK weight to me. :shrug3

How does Cat recommend gauge swatches to be made? I know you can't really check gauge as you go on the mobius cowls so there has to be some way to get an idea before you cast on.

Someone on facebook pointed out to me that the lace work was going to be lost with the fuzzy yarn. I've never done a moebius, so I'm just going to work a plain one with the yarn. :)

That is a very good point. Between the fuzziness and the variegation, the lace would be lost. Maybe something with some horizontal "ribbing" instead?
