Single layer ring sling with a lined tail - suggestions on how to make it please

I bought some linen today to make a ring sling for my sister

I'm thinking I will need to line the tail. Give me your opinions and how should I go about lining it. It is fairly heavy and I would much prefer to keep it a single layer.

She is 19. Pretty into appearances for the most part.

I have black rings and am using black and dark gray thread to finish it. The pattern I follow is this (http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/sling.html).

Given the colours, I'd probably get some black cotton, line the tail with that and put a patch pocket on it of the sling fabric.

You will, of course, mercilessly pre-shrink both fabrics, right??? Right??? ;)

Linen is in the dryer. May go get some light weight black to line it the morning. I have med rings so I don't want to add any bulk I think that idea would work. I have been debating a pocket for her phone anyway. Thankfully Jo-Ann's is less than a mile away.

Oh did I mention I have to have it done before I go to bed tomorrow night....

Should I line just the tail area or the entire thing?

If it's already thick and you have only medium rings, I'd probably go for just lining the tail. Yes, there will be a bit of space between where the rings are and where the lining starts, but...well...she can cope. ;)

On the other hand if you try threading the linen through and decide you still have enough room you could line the whole thing. :shrug3

It doesn't take long to sew ring slings. Truly. You can do it. :cheer
