How much does wool roving shrink when you wet felt it?

I have some wool roving I want to make into eggs but am unsure how many eggs to divide it into. How much does it shrink? I have about 8 grams in two separate balls. I'd love to make three little eggs, as I have three kids, but not if they're going to be the size of shooter marbles, kwim?

No way around a tester object but in this case it doesn't sound like you have any to spare. Really you can't tell until you do it since there's no set rate of shrinkage across the board for varieties (or at least a percentage you can depend on).
