Just wondering, what is the best thread to use when making a pony bead shape (boondoggle?) We're making mushrooms for a Girl Scout SWAP and I have never made these shaped bead creations before. I have plastic gimp, but the mushroom is rolling up. I read online that you can dunk them in boiling water and lay them flat, but we'll be making 130 of these things. Does any other kind of string work better? I see there is waxed string, polyester cord and stretchy cord available but I have no idea what would work best. I have some cotton kitchen yarn that I crochet with but it is real flimsy, not stiff, plus it unravels and I don't want to have to tape the ends of 130 cords. Any advice from someone who has experience making these things?
