Sunshine has had three weeks of meltdowns. Daily, long, extreme meltdowns.

A couple days ago I introduced a journal in a "calm down basket" with a few other things.

She's almost completely filled the journal. Yesterday she had less time and intensity to her meltdowns. Today she had no meltdowns.

It's really cute when she "writes" in it. It instantly calms her and if I catch her before she's in meltdown mode I just say "wow you're upset. Do you want to journal that"

I was so shocked today when she was doing that! (But a little relieved to find out they were scribbles and not actual words. :giggle)

Actual words go ON the table :giggle

Don and I decided we are going to get a bunch of composition books and let her have her journals. I've been meaning to journal again and we are going to encourage this :)
