So after a couple of battles over sleep, I'm resorting to melatonin for my 2 y.o

I can only find 3 mg tablets. Is that too much?

He's 30 lbs. I think I read in another thread that 1 mg should do it?

Also, is there melatonin for kids? Or do I get time to swallow an adult tablet?

vitacost.com sells 1 mg sublingual tablets, and so does GNC. I'd start with half of one. :)

I've found a liquid version at Vitamin Shoppe that is listed as 1mg but it's four droppers per dose, so I was able to start them off with a single dropper, meaning approximately .25mg. One child's magic dose was .75, and another's was .5. One full mg was the marker at which both of them had side effect sleep issues.

I cut the 3 mg pills in half and then into 1/3rds. That's about a .5 dose. However, it might vary, b/c I don't know if the pills are really meant to be cut up like that.

I'd like to try the liquid stuff sometime.:yes

I would do .5 mg to start with. I crush ours and give it to them in yogurt or broth. I use to do applesauce.
