I noticed today that Ray Ray has a little goop in his right eye. It isn't water, just looks like an eye booger. Is it something I should be concerned about?

I also noticed that he seems to be sleeping alot. Normally he is waiting for the door when we get home for the day, and plays with the boys all night. I don't know if this is related or not because it is our first day home with him all day. We are usually at work/daycare during the week.

maybe just some allergies? My dog had seasonal allergies. :giggle A warm washcloth wiped across the eye from inside corner outwards will help get the goop off. :hug

Ok, so that is normal? I have never had a pet so I don't know :shifty

We did clean the AC units this weekend, and it created a lot of dust.

my dog had eye boogers all the time, and I've seen them on other dogs. I would always wipe them off for him. Not sure if it's normal, but I bet it is. Especially with the duct cleaning.

As long as the eye discharge isn't a nasty color, and it isn't a lot I would guess it is normal. How old is he?

I don't have a dog but grew up with one and it happened all the time, so I would guess it's normal as long as the eye looks healthy.

Amber, he is about 9 weeks old. The discharge is whitish, definitely not yellow or green or anything.

sounds like a plugged tear duct. My daughter has had them since birth. Massage the corner of his eye several times a day with a clean finger or damp q-tip.

A 9wk old puppy is going to nap frequently. As long as he is getting up, playing and acting normal between his naps I wouldn't worry about the sleeping.
