View Full Version : Can I save this Royal Icing?

I made some royal icing last night and it is far too thin for making the flowers for SIL's bday cake like I was planning -- can I thicken it or do I need to start over?

I have to wait until tomorrow to fix it or make it over because I'm out of icing sugar anyways :shrug3

And yes I know it isn't good for me, or crunchy, or whatever, but I want to make a beautiful, toxic cake for her birthday :giggle

:shrug I don't know as I haven't used it before but I am sure your SIL will love her cake :heart

You should be able to thicken it. Did you use meringue powder?

Oh, you have got it covered right down to the surface while you're waiting, right?

:yes I made it last night with Wilton meringue powder and it is tightly covered.

So do I just add more icing sugar?
