You just want to make the file small enough to email? What kind of a file is it? wav? You can convert that to mp3.

My email says it can only email files 25mb.... it is 36-37 mb I guess. I am trying to cut off the last few minutes in hopes to shrink it.
I do have dropbox. :think I think it is a mp3 but it has other letters in front of that.... how do I check?

I don't know how to edit wma/mp3 files (all the edit software I've seen works with wav files) but that doesn't mean it can't be done. It just means I don't know which software does it.
There are some online converters that will convert a wma file to mp3; if you could do a smaller quality mp3, that might work. I've used this one: http://media-convert.com/ Sometimes it works great, other times it seems to stall.
Music Match used to be a free program that would make mp3 files smaller (convert them from 256kb to 64kb). But I don't know if it's even around anymore.

Thanks. Will check that out. I tried out a few but they all wanted me to pay for them in order to keep the edited file

Probably a stupid question, but could you post it on online somewhere and have them download it?
