English Muffins

I made them and they are good....but they are way more like the cheap store-bought ones than the pricey store-bought ones :(. More like a roll and no nice deep holes. Any ideas on what I can do differently?

but I made the dough in the bread machine. And instead of cutting the dough with a cookie cutter, I devided it into 12 portion and rolled and flattened them (got that from a different recipe: http://www.motherearthnews.com/Relish/How-To-Make-Whole-Wheat-English-Muffins-Recipe.aspx).
