I have a *beautiful* black knight butterfly bush in my front flower bed. I love it, and I'd hate to see it go.....although it might be dead. :think Umm.....I'll have to check on that. :bag

Anyway, if it's not dead, a friend gave me a beautiful tea garden that has lavendar and 2 kinds of mint. Fortunately, the front bed is completely cut off from the lawns and other sources of soil. :shifty

If I put my tea garden plants in the front bed, will they choke off the butterfly bush?

Mint is rather invasive. :think

I thought my butterfly bush was dead a week ago, and now it's re-growing from the base really rapidly. :phew Have hope! :giggle

Mint can actually go under your sidewalk and into your yard, since it spreads through it's root system. That said, I just planted some in my back yard, hoping it would invade, since grass won't grow there. :giggle :shifty

The lavender would be just fine, and you could bury pots in the front, and plant the mint in those, to contain it! It sounds purdy. :sillygrin

eta: your avi is so beautiful, I loves it! :mrgreen

Butterfly bush are *really* slow to start in the spring. Tricky!

I don't think the mint could choke it out, just surround it. :think
