has anyone used mullein oil for an ear infection? putting the oil in the ear?

my 2.5 yr old has an ear infection at the tail end of the flu... I just decided to check his ears since he's not acting great despite his fever being gone. He was quite happy a day or two ago. They are red...

I hesitate to put anything in the ears, even garlic oil like some swear by. (I have not found it effective myself).

but wondering about mullein oil which is supposed to help with inflamation.

and thenthere's oil of oregano which I guess you put on the outer part of the ear, much diluted.

I'm giving him pulsatilla... and echincaea goldenroot.

if anyone has tried mullein oil or has anything good or bad to say about it let me know!

As long as the ear drum hasn't ruptured you can place oil in the ear. It will be leaking nasty pussy stuff if it has ruptured.

mullien and garlic oil both are great for ear infections. Warm up a little and place a few drops inside the ear. It should help with the pain as well as help the infection.

If you are worried the ear drum might be ruptured or you really just don't want to put anything inside, you can also simply rub the oil all around the ear and it will be absorbed.

Like Rachael, I use a mix of garlic and mullein oil for ear infections.
