View Full Version : one extra or lost stitch? how to get rid of it?

I'm following a pattern and I should have 16 stitches left on my needle, but I have 17. I either lost one or gained one, but I can't see where -- probably on the ends somewhere where I'm decreasing each side (knitting a triangle shape right now). Anyway, what's the best way to get back to an even number? I've googled, but most of the tuts assume you can see where you made the mistake, but I can't!

Next row, just decrease by one close to the end. That's what my knitting teacher told me when I did this same thing recently. :)

I knit (or purl, depending) 2 together at the end of the row. :)

so I've already been decreasing both sides, this won't look weird or uneven to have one side decreased twice? :nails

You could put the decrease in the middle.
