Is there a site that is like Ravelry, but for jewelry making?

Tracey, I am enjoying it a lot. Did your Michael's have the same sale with 50% off many of the hanging beads?

I have posted a few of the introductory things I am working on in the big Feb. craft thread.

I'll have to look at that thread! :yes I'm not sure if it was the sale or not, but my fingers are itching to make some pretty things. :O Right now, I'm trying to learn to knit. :O

Is there a big initial investment in buying jewelry making tools?

I bought a mini kit of travel-sized tools like needle nose pliers, a wire cutter, and round nosed pliers for something like $7 at Walmart. Then I did need to buy a crimper too. So maybe I spent in the $10- $12 range for very basic tools just to see if I enjoyed jewelry making.

Then you do need some basic wire, some findings, some beads, etc.

I tried knitting and it was not for me, as much as I wanted it to be! Still love looking at knitting supplies LOL.

I'm still not sure if knitting will be for me. :no It's too soon to tell :giggle

But, boy, do those baubles at Michael's call to me. :bag

Thanks for the info, Leigh! :heart

Doing some google searches I came across this- seems like a very large, Jewlery community- one possibility (broken link):

Also found a large Jewelry and Trinkets community on Craftster.
