I know about switching colors ;) But I'm having trouble with this pattern:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/58325447/knitting-pattern-pdf-file-baby-slippers So the first slipper I made I have about 50 ends to weave in :doh b/c i cut the yarn each time I did the edging in the contrasting color (kwim so far?)- that's like three sts. So I convo'd the lady, and she said she does not cut the yarn, she carries it behind, or crosses them. I have no idea what that means. I'm guessing it's like intarsia? So does that mean that the inside of the bootie will have loose yarn running across it?

And now I'm trying to do this, and my two colors are no long "attached." Does that make sense? Like I'm knitting two separate peices of work on the same needle :doh. And to make matters worse, I can't find a helpful youtube video to save my life.

It won't really have loose yarn, but it'll have twisted yarn. You can watch the Fair Isle video for more info - http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/advanced-techniques or here's a good knitting daily entry - http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/daily/archive/2011/02/07/managing-long-floats-in-fair-isle-knitting.aspx
