As soon as I saw the painting, I was looking for the like button. :grin I'm so glad she has a heart to give, but I wish she were finding a place at your house for her gorgeous pic. :hug2

Her second painting:
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/klpmommy/crafts/P2130028.jpg

My dad was here yesterday and we went out and bought her some nicer paint & brushes. Nothing fancy, but she only had one size small brush and cheap poster paints. She is enjoying painting so much I wanted to encourage her. :heart

I also stocked up on my cheaper paints for S b/c she wants to paint, too. ;)

She is also thinking about painting another cardinal so that I can keep one. :woohoo

:grin Definately some nice artwork. If your dd starts using watery paints you might want to buy her some watercolour paper, so it doesn't buckle. If you are at an art supply store, there is tape that you can buy. It comes in a role and your wet it then put it around the edges of the paper to tape you painting in place onto a hard surface (wooden drawing board, for example). You wait for the painting to fully dry and then remove the tape. It basically stretches the paper and helps it keep it's shape when painting. My world changed when I discovered this tape. Watercolour paper is easier to find, and you can probably buy a pad of it at WalMart. ;)

she was using cheap paper from a pad off manilla construction paper. I got her some better paper as well. :yes

Do you have a scanner? We scan a lot of dc's pictures before they are given away.

It's a beautiful picture. You could turn it into an all purpose greeting card if you scanned it and sent it to one of those companies that do that. Don't know the names of US ones :)

it's way oversized, although I could possibly scan the bird part. :doh No, I can't. DH has his computer with the scanner software on it with him and he is out of town right now.

I'm hoping when she paints her next cardinal it is just as good or better. :heart

I really think all the puzzles she has been doing (she does 550 piece puzzles on her own) are helping her b/c she has to really notice the details. But she is definitely talented. :yes

Brava!! That's really beautiful! :hearts

If she keeps it up, I'd open an etsy for her when she's older. I know at least one household that would totally buy a print. :wink

Wow! She's got serious talent! :heart I'm agreeing with all the others about art lessons and giving her as much time to paint, draw, whatever, as she wants. :rockon I also thought of Etsy almost immediately. :yes

Fantastic! That's really cool! She's got an eye, that's for sure- I love it when kids fill the entire paper; you know they're really thinking and planning their space!

Wow, they are both really beautiful! I'm really impressed with the way she used details and textured the grass and sky in the first one.
