I found this amazing looking recipe for a salted butter caramel sauce online and am dying to try it. She used apple slices w/it but it would be awesome on cake or ice cream or w/a spoon!
1 1/2 C sugar
3/4 C water
1/2 C salter butter, cut into pieces
1/2 C heavy cream
2 tsp sea salt
in saucepan set over low heat, combine the sugar and water. Heat until the sugar is just dissolved, then add the butter. Bring to to a boil and continue to cook until it reaches a golden caramel color.
Remove from heat and add the cream, vigorously whisking to combine. Add salt. Cook 10-15 min until the caramel is creamy. Carefully transfer and store in a glass jar.
Now doesn't that sound yummy!!!
