I love mixing a pound of ground beef or turkey with a pound of pork sausage. an egg, some onion, some bread crumbs or oatmeal, salt, pepper. you can put BBQ sauce or ketchup on top at the end if you want.

We used to make one where you substituted whole oats instead of breadcrumbs and added green bell peppers and onions and then you cover with cheese. It's like a Philly Cheesesteak meatloaf and it was really good (and GF). :) The recipe used to be on the Quaker Oats site but couldn't find it now.

I usually add in onion, breadcrumbs, an egg, worcestershire sauce, a dollop of mustard, salt and pepper. :think Sometimes I do the ketchup on top. :shrug3 Oh, dill pickles make it delicious but I'm out. :pout

Keep the ideas coming!

I can't give you amounts but this is what's in mine:

Breadcrumbs
Egg
Minced Onion
Minced Green Pepper
Worcestershire
Soy sauce
Ketchup
Brown Sugar
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Paprika

At the end of baking I glaze it with a mix of ketchup, brown sugar, dijon and soy sauce and broil it until bubbly.

It's a bit eclectic but meatloaf haters have been known to go back for seconds. :lol

We liked the pizza ones where you add pizza sauce and pizza toppings and mozz cheese on top! :P~
