I just had to share.... a couple weeks ago I shared a link on facebook to an article called "Stop being Mean to your Toddler" that talked about understanding your toddlers perspective and realizing they're not out to get you, among other things.
Today I got an email from one of my church friends who uses Ezzos and TTUAC on her 3yo and 16 month old. She confided that my link was "an answer to prayer" and that she knew she had been "being mean" to her toddlers for quite some time now. She said she read the article about a week ago and this past week was her "best week of parenting so far":jawdrop.
I was so happy though. I really hesitated posting that link because I know most of my local friends are not AP (I know, I need to get out more and meet more AP parents... I'm planning to:) ) so I was dreading the comments they would make, and instead I actually helped one of them!! :clap So excited about that!
Maybe it's not a big deal for many of you, but I am SO the type of person that keeps my mouth shut and smiles and nods, then kicks myself later. A result of my authoritarian childhood I'm sure.

Anyways... thanks for listening to my little pat on the back, lol. Oh, and I messaged my friend back, telling her that her feedback encouraged me and sharing a couple more links with her "in case she was interested".

Go mama!!!! Sometimes it's so hard to step out, and be brave and put yourself out there. What a fantastic thing you did- for however many families just rolled their eyes and huffed and puffed and mentally explained away their actions towards their babies, one mama and one baby are better off for it! :rockon

ok third try for posting the link!! I'm putting a space in "toddler" in case for some reason it just doesn't want to post a link. So here's my message:

Yay! It is so encouraging, isn't it? :mrgreen

I am getting braver about posting links on my FB, and I had a friend pm me last week saying she had decided not to CIO b/c of the links! :woohoo
