Talk to me about moving hydrangeas

In an effort to get my mind on more pleasant things ;) , I wonder if someone could give me advice on moving my hydrangeas? We live in the Southeast, and I have 5 or 6 that were here when we bought the house but they're almost completely hidden on the side of my garage next to the fence line.

They're all dried out and basically died off for the winter if you know what I mean. Is this a good time to move them? Got any tips on how to move them and if they're likely to survive such a thing?

How big are they?? If they're huge it's going to be hard to get enough of their root ball. Will you still be having cold for a while, so they'll be nice and dormant? I'm in south Ga and I would say it's too late for me to do something like that because we start warming up soon.
