I want to buy some bare (white) wool to dye for longies for Asher and new baby. In the past I've gotten the Peruvian Highland wool from Knit Picks. It was okay, but did pill quite a bit - although not nearly as bad as the cheap Lions Brand stuff.

I'm not so concerned about cost right now. What should I buy? I just want something that will hold up well. :yes

I don't knit but I have some stuff made with Cascade Wool that I just love. Its soft enough to be comfy for a baby and it does not pill at all!

I love the bare merino from Knitpicks. It's soft and durable, and fairly inexpensive. Also, I've ordered licorice twist and organic Gaia from catnip yarns and those are also very soft. I prefer softness and pilling over a hardier yarn with less pilling, though, so...

Cascade 220 doesn't take dye fantastically well, but it's terrific for longies.
