I put a turkey in the oven at 2:30 today. I put it in a pyrex cake pan and an oven bag. Well, I just checked on it and the bag filled up with broth and is hanging over the side of the pan. It was slowly dripping onto the oven element and making my kitchen all smokey. I put another pan under it to catch the drips. It has a half hour left to bake. What should I do?? Cut a hole in the oven bag and let it drain into the pan?? Gah!

*no* idea, but hopefully someone has a clue, and fast!

Sounds like letting it drain might work.

We cooked a turkey last week in a sposie, tinfoil roaster, and it sprung a leak as well. It was a messy affair, and my oven smoked for a few days after. But at least now it's just burnt yucky on the bottom, I *will* clean it one day. in the not-to-near future!

I grabbed the scissors and a ladle and drained out enough so it wasn't hanging over the side. It still dripped a little. My oven looks like it's been tarred, but the good news is that it was the moistest turkey I've ever had. :yum
