I killed my sewing machine, trying to sew through too many layers of fabric.:sigh Something *thumped*, and now, the wheel in the back turns, but the needle doesn't go up and down. :cry
Everyone mourn with me. I haven't the funds to replace her atm. :sigh :candle

Are you sure she's dead? Maybe she's just mostly dead.
You need to live closer. My husband fixed my old sewing machine so many times it was frustrating. . . for me. I was ready for a new one. :giggle Bertha might be a simple fix. :shrug3

Ohhhhh.....
So, if I ask her what's worth living for, and pump her with billows, step on the peddle, she might whir: "your dauuughter's bunnnnnting for Chrrriiiiiistmas!" :haha Or, "to blave". :roll
Should I just take a screwdriver to her? Spouse could fix her, I'm fairly confident, if I could get her open. :think As long as nothing's actually *broken* in there.

:giggle To blave is a powerful force.
It's absolutely worth a shot. :yes They seem to be fairly simple inside. Mine don't have computers, etc., though.

Mine was magically resurrected after a trip to the sewing-machine fix-it guy.
You could always try searching for your make's guide on google.

Yeah, mine's super basic with no computer, so it should be an easy fix, theoretically! :pray4

Aww I hate to hear that. I have two sitting here unused that I"d be happy to give you if you were a tad closer. If you post what make/model I can do some digging and see if it's a repair you can do at home.

I might as well try, anyway...the repairs would likely be more than it's actually worth in a shop. :lol

Mine did a similar thing once. I wish I could remember what it was that I did, but it was fixable :D Hoping that yours is too.

My friend, you need to edit your last post.
"Wow! I fixed my sewing machine! Look at me!"
Or something like that. :giggle

just remember to be gentle... when you've been mostly dead all day (even if you're a fast healer) one may need some time. ;)
