I made a rag doll for my 1.5 yo neice for Christmas. Considering I'd never done something like that before in my life, I think it came out pretty decent. :)
I had a pattern for the doll itself, but the rest I'm making up as I go along.
My question is for what to do about clothing. I made an uber-simple sundress because I've never sewn clothes before. I couldn't figure out how to do sleeves, so it's sleeveless. :lol Now I'm crocheting a sweater to go over it.
The question is this: Should the sweater have short or long sleeves? Since it's a sundress, it seems like short sleeves are more appropriate. And the little girl lives in Phoenix, so even now, sweaters are optional. ;) However, the part of me that grew up in a cold and snowy state feels like long sleeves are more appropriate for a Christmas gift, and that it would look funny to give a doll wearing short sleeves in the winter.
